Born in Market Drayton, Nick began his career with Everton as a youngster and made his first team debut for the Toffees during the 2001-02 season. He played half a dozen games on loan during the following season without scoring and in the 2003-04 season he had a spell on loan with Millwall, scoring four times in fifteen games. He left Everton during the 2004-05 season having played 14 first team games, scoring three times. He joined Plymouth Argyle and went on to make 77 appearances for the Home Park club, scoring ten times before leaving the club during the 2008-09 season.
He joined Hereford United and scored once in ten appearances for them before joining Shrewsbury Town. He played 15 times for them scoring twice before leaving the club at the end of the season. In the summer of 2009 he joined Chester City and was their top scorer when in January 2010 he joined Barrow, making his debut in the defeat at Rushden & Diamonds.
